‘Science in the service of people’ – a message from Julia Hoover, General Manager - UK and Ireland, Ferring

For more than 70 years, Ferring has been discovering and developing medicines that enhance birth, life and living. Today we are a global company, but we have never lost sight of how we started: as a family.

When I joined Ferring in 2021, I was struck by the welcoming and friendly culture. It’s energising to spend time with the team in the office and out with customers. I have been impressed by how Ferring stands behind its philosophy “People come first at Ferring”. It truly makes Ferring a great place to work.

Recently, we started a hybrid working approach with office-based employees now being able to work remotely two days a week. In addition, we have employees with global and regional roles working around the world supporting our large group based in the UK, creating career development opportunities globally.

Ferring is also living its mission “to build families and help people live better lives” with our own employees – supporting them through fertility treatments, egg freezing, surrogacy, adoption. All employees are also entitled to 26 weeks paid parental leave.

Ferring has a broad, exciting portfolio and a pipeline exploring breakthroughs in gene therapy and microbiome research. These medicines can make a tremendous impact for patients. The breadth of the portfolio combined with the team’s innovative mindset means that we have the opportunity to be strategic and apply a breadth of go to market models.

Our science and our drive to deliver life-changing medicines matter, but they aren’t our reason for doing what we do. Our reason is our people: our patients, healthcare professionals, employees, partners, neighbours, communities and families.
